For those who are considering issuing Court proceedings but are reluctant to do so, it is worth noting that as of 1st July 2013, new legislation will see a rise in court fees. Some of the most significant changes are as follows:

1. To petition for divorce will now cost £410 instead of £340.

 2. To apply for a financial order (i.e. spousal maintenance/pension sharing order/property adjustment order) will increase to £255 from £240

 3. An application for contact or residence will increase to £215 from £200.

For more information on these changes and on issuing court proceedings.
