We were recently instructed to place a procedure for recovering a vehicle for our client, who provides finance for prestige vehicles. However, the brief came with a twist; The car was a gold “wrapped” Lamborghini taken aboard by the customer who is now facing prison in Italy for several alleged serious offences.
The biggest challenge in recovering the vehicle has been with the Italian Authorities and the garage that stored it, claiming £7,000 storage charges. It took months to apply to the courts, sort the paperwork, and argue with the garage that my client was not liable for any storage charges. After much hard work, the Lamborghini is back in the UK with no storage charges to pay.
